Glory Glory Glooooorrrrry

I know you've said the word, "glory".  I also know you've sung it over and over agin.  And you've also heard that professional christian at the front of your church saying it.  But do you know what it means?

Glory is a word that means something like, "God on display" or  "whatever makes God be God".  It comes from the greek word doxa which is where we get the word, doxology, and it can mean something like, "the heaviness of God's self manifestation."

OK.  Enough smart talk.  Let's get to the point.  2 Corinthians 3:18 says,
"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

Glory....God on display
Glory....the stuff that makes God God
Glory....God manifesting himself

Here's a consideration for you:  When you make Jesus today's focus you begin to become like the very person you are paying attention to.  Or put another way...When you make Jesus today's focus...God puts himself on display in you and the very qualities and characteristics that make God God, are manifested in you.
