She looks thrilled with it! And you got an Evenflo after all you FB friends recommended another brand (can't remember what it was.) What was the deciding factor?
Diane...you are so good at seeing the details! Yes, everyone highly recomended the Britax but we decided to go with the Evenflo. Here was the deciding factor. The Evenflo was 100 dollars...fifty of which was paid for by the grandparents. So, we paid 50 bucks. The Britax started at 300 dollars. 300 dollars for a car seat? I'm sure that if we price shopped around....looked for sales....bought it in the states and picked it up in bellingham...we could find it for a hundred dollars less (maybe)....but really, who has time for all that? So, we decided to go with inexpensive and save the 250 dollars we would have spent on the Britax to buy her things that she spends more time in: like shoes, diapers, and a snowsuit. Now...maybe the evenflo is not that great.... but my suspicion is that all car seats are a pain. So nothing against our friends who did end up getting the Britax....for us, it simply seemed WAY to expensive. And we trust that because its being sold in the Canadian market...it meets the safety standards....and really, that's most important, right?!
Actually, the Evenflo is the second car seat that I bought because the first one (Eddie Bauer) was such a pain to adjust, and at times impossible to tighten sufficiently. I like the Evenflo better because the adjustment knob at the side is super easy to use. As far as safety features and ratings go, they are useless if they are too difficult to employ properly. But you're right, I think the Evenflo is rated well, and easy to use. Enjoy this next phase of E's beautiful and joyful life.
Thanks Diane! That makes us feel real good about the Evenflo purchase! :) Thanks!
