Cycling - Vancouver to Hope

A student of mine, DP, is going to South America for 6 months....following God and finding adventure. He leaves in a couple days...so to wish him farewell....why not take a day off work and go on a good ride?

So we decided that cycling from Vancouver to Hope, BC would be an excellent day trip!

Our route was about 180km which took 7 hours of riding to complete. We took about an hour worth of breaks along the way (30 minutes in Harrison Mills for lunch). Leaving at 6am and getting to Hope before 2pm. Heidi is a WONDERFUL WIFE and graciously picked us up in Hope.

If you are interested in cycling from Vancouver to Hope at some point...we found this website to be helpful

The route is super beautiful....and we got to go down BC's steepest highway decline (11%)....can someone say....WOOO HOOOOOOO!

In terms of weather...it was wonderful. 18 degrees Celsius, sometimes a headwind and sometimes a tailwind...bright and sunny.

Awesome trip. This was FUN!

We will miss ya DP!
