Coming home....

Well....in our last few hours here in Seattle, a short post.

Some things have changed, since we first hit the open road, three weeks ago with no specific plans....
  • Joe is now sporting a full goatee that Heidi is planning to quietly shave while he sleeps in the night
  • We have driven over 7000km and experienced (not just seen) some awesome places in California
  • Our love for California is re-kindled. Seriously, this place has it all!
  • Our love or each other is re-kindled. Yay for spending over 500 hours in three weeks within 2 feet of each other.
  • Our appreciation to the people and staff of Granville Chapel for the time to get away. You guys are folks who love us and getting away for three weeks has reminded us of why we love what we do.
We're sure there are other changes...but those are the important ones. So one final question.

What is vacation?

We think vacation is...

about building relationships that make a difference in your kids (and our) lives

about doing things that bring your family together

it's about adventure and doing things that give your soul rest

and it's about family and nurturing the relationships that God has entrusted you to steward

and we're sure its about a few more things too....but we're going to the Space Needle, REI, and Pike Place Market to get coffee and walk around....so who seriously wants to sit in a hotel room at a computer?

Well...to the readers of this blog...many of whom we know, and some who we don't know...thanks for following our journey. It's great to connect with you! And to those who've commented on posts while we have been away...sorry for not commenting back....we will respond when we get back to Vancouver!

We are very much looking forward to reentering our lives and rhythms in Vancouver....seeing our friends, worshiping God with our church, connecting with our students, and most of all....being home.
