Combine: good food, fire, farts, games, tents, a rustic cabin to escape from the rain, a Sunday morning church service, and fire....and fire....and you've got yourselves a GOOD time!
And we'll tell you..as a family who gets out a lot (last summer we camped more than 30 days under the stars), there's one thing that makes it all possible: going with people your kids love...and people who love your kids. It's the secret to many days of climbing, hiking camping, etc. Go with friends who "get it". Who understand how "kids (and their schedules) change everything". If your friends "get it" and see your kids as contributors to a weekend adventure and not just nuisances to it....you have many days under the stars ahead of you.
